While we’re sorry to see you go, we want to make your departure as seamless as possible, this detailed guide will walk you through how to delete a MAAARPay account properly and permanently.
Important: Deleting your account is a permanent action. It is not the same as logging out or uninstalling the app. Once the process is complete, your data cannot be recovered.
Pre-Deletion Checklist
To avoid errors during the process, please ensure you have completed these steps before initiating your request:
Withdraw All Funds: Your wallet balance must be zero. The system will block deletion if any funds remain.
Finalize All Payments: Ensure there are no pending payments, transfers, or active merchant transactions. All recent activities must be "Completed" before the system can process your deletion.
Download Your History: Export your transaction history and tax statements now. You will lose access to these files once you confirm the deletion.
Cancel Subscriptions: If you have active MAAARPay cards, cancel any recurring payments or subscriptions tied to them.
Keep Access to Your Email or Phone: The process requires a 6-digit verification code sent to your email or phone number. Make sure you have access to whichever is on file before starting. The code expires in 10 minutes, so be ready to enter it promptly
Step-by-Step Deletion Process
Step 1: Log In to Your MAAARPay Account
Start by opening the MAAARPay app and signing in with your credentials. You won't be able to initiate any deletion if you're not logged into the correct account.
Step 2: Navigate to Account Settings
Tap on your profile icon and head over to Privacy & Security. Scroll down for the Delete Account option, this is where the entire deletion process begins.
Step 3: Initiate the Deletion Request
When you tap Delete Account, MAAARPay will ask to carefully read the consequences of deleting your account.
Confirm that you understand the consequences of permanently deleting your account then select Confirm Deletion
Step 4: Select your reason for leaving
MAAARPay will ask you to select a reason for leaving. You can choose from categories such as
"No longer need this account"
"Privacy concerns"
"Too expensive"
“Dissatisfied with the service”
“Account security issues”
“Limited features offered"
"Moving to a different platform"
"Other"
Then you select Delete my account
Once you submit, the system automatically runs a compliance check on your account. This check scans for anything that could block the deletion.
If any blockers are detected, you'll see a clear message explaining exactly what needs to be resolved.
Step 5: Verify Your account deletion
Once everything is clear, a 6-digit verification code will be sent to your registered email address. If no email is on file, the code will be delivered via SMS instead.
Enter the 6-digit verification code you received. You have 10 minutes before the code expires.
Didn't receive it? Tap Resend Code to get a new one.
Entered the wrong code? You'll have a limited number of attempts before the system requires you to request a fresh code.
Once you enter the correct code, you select Verify & continue.
Your deletion request is officially confirmed. At this point:
All your active cards are automatically frozen.
Your account enters the 15-day cooling-off period.
You'll receive a confirmation email with the exact date your account is scheduled for deletion.
Step 6: Cancel If You Change Your Mind
Changed your mind? Simply log in to your MAAARPay account. As long as the 15-day cooling-off period hasn't ended, you'll be able to cancel the deletion request directly. You can optionally provide a reason for cancelling.
Your account will be fully restored to its active state immediately, and you can continue using MAAARPay as if nothing ever happened. You'll receive a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.
Step 7: Permanent Account Deletion
Once the 15-day cooling-off period expires, the deletion process kicks in automatically. Here's exactly what happens:
Your personal profile data is permanently removed; including your name, address, preferences, and settings.
Your saved addresses and notifications are deleted.
Your email and phone number are anonymized in the system.
All cards are permanently cancelled.
Your account is fully deactivated, you can no longer log in.
Your profile is removed from connected third-party services (such as the Rain platform, if applicable).
This entire process is fully automatic. You don't need to lift a finger once the cooling-off period ends.
What Happens to My Financial Records?
This is one of the most important aspects to understand. Due to global legal and regulatory requirements, MAAARPay is required by law to retain certain financial records for up to 7 years after account deletion. These records include:
Transaction history; orders, deposits, withdrawals, and internal transfers
KYC/identity verification records
Ledger entries and financial audit data
Activity logs
This retention is mandated by several regulatory bodies:
SEC Rule 17a-4 — 5-year broker-dealer record retention
FINRA Rule 4511 — 6-year financial record retention
IRS regulations — 7-year tax record retention
AML/BSA — 5-year CIP record retention
After the full 7-year retention period, all remaining data is permanently purged from Maaarpay's systems. At that point, absolutely nothing remains tied to your account.
MAAARPay Account Delete vs Cooling-Off: What's the Difference?
If you're hesitant about leaving permanently, MAAARPay offers a built-in safety net: a 15-day cooling-off period. Once you confirm your deletion request, your account isn't gone immediately, you have a full 15 days to change your mind and reactivate it, no questions asked.
During the 15 days window:
Your account status changes to "Pending Deletion."
You can still log in and view your account.
You can cancel the deletion at any time during these 15 days.
You'll be able to see exactly how many days remain before your account is permanently removed.
However, once this window closes, the process becomes irreversible. All funds, transaction history, and personal data will be purged from our systems. If you aren't 100% certain about leaving, we recommend using those 15 days to ensure you’ve backed up any necessary info before it's gone for good.
